DQ11APOLLO is a special-event station of the Deutsche Amateuer-Radio-Club (DARC) section N28 Duelmen celebrating the 40th. anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon by NASA.

DQ11APOLLO-team visits the
Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme of the
DLR in
Bremen and the
Bremener Broadcast Museum. Thanks to the
members of the DLR-staff, especially
Lars, DJ3BO and the
hams of the Bremen Broadcast Museum
for their great hospitality and the interessting dicussions. For pictures of this event

15. Juni 2010: Die
The DQ11APOLLO-QSL-service delivered today
all QSL-cards of the last activation period.
Thanks for the many QSL-cards sent in up to this day !
28. Mai 2010: By the occasion of the annivesary of
the Apollo-10 Mission,
18.-26th. May, DQ11APOLLO has been
activated for the last time. Now
3869 QSOs and
SWL-reports from
72 DXCC-countries as well as
9537 hits on QRZ.com are recorded.

01. Mai 2010: The 10th. activation period has finished.
Currently there are
3400 contacts logged and
about 8200 hits on QRZ.com for DQ11APOLLO.
The QSL delivery starts at once.
During the last actication period we are very pleased for the contact with Lars, DJ3BO, from the
clubstation DK0DLR
of the Institute für Raumfahrtsysteme from the
Deutschen Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt e.V.
in Bremen.
10. Februar 2010: After the 7th. activation period
over 2600 QSOs are in the log.
The QSL-cards for all first contacts made until
09. Februar 2010 are delivered now.
03. Februar 2010: Now
more than 2400 QSOs with
over 60 countries are logged.
The QSL-cards are printed and now ready for
delivery by the QSL-manager.

It was a great honor for us !
End of August 2009: At present DQ11APOLLO made about
1650 QSO with
48 countries.
Background
July 20th. 2009 is the 40 th. annnivesary of the first manned landing on the moon by the Apollo-11 mission. To celebrate this brilliant technical achievement of NASA, a group of space-flight enthusiatic radio amateurs of the Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club e.V. (DARC) section N28 Duelmen, applied for the special-event callsign DQ11APOLLO. It was issued on 15th. July 2009 for 365 days by the German BNetzA. The station will be activated on the mission-dates of the past Apollo flights on all SW-, VHF- & UHF-bands. Please see the table below.

Special-DOK
The Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club e.V. (DARC) Department HF- and DX-Sports assigned the special DOK APOLLO11 to the special-event station DQ11APOLLO marking the 40th. anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon. DQ11APOLLO will be used during the period 22.07.2009 - 14.07.2010.

Preference will be given to cards sent direct with return postage and will be answered
directly. Direct cards with no return postage will be answered via Bureau. The alternative
is to send cards via Bureau. The QSL cards of DQ11APOLLO are printed now. The delivery starts
today - 03. Feb. 2010.
Hint: Please send your bureau-QSL-cards via
Deutschen Amateur Radio Club as soon as possible
(best until 15. Juli). From autumn on DQ11APOLLO does not use the DARC-QSL-Service in Baunatal,
Germany, any longer.
Apollo 40-Award
On the occasion of the 40th. anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon by Apollo-11 the Deutsche Amateur-Radio-Club e.V. (DARC) issues the APOLLO 40-Award to remember the outstanding technical and scientific achievement of the APOLLO spaceflight-missions by NASA.
Hint
Because of the uncertain future of the DARC Section Dülmen N28, we decided not
to edit the APOLLO 40-Award for the present. We feel sorry for that and want to
apologize to all interested hams. - Please pay also attention to the
hint concerning the QSL-delivery via the DARC-QSL
bureau. Thank you.
Rules
The APOLLO 40-award is an award of the section N28 and
open to all radio amateurs and SWLs.
The procedure to recognize the award
officially by the Deutsche Amateur Radio Club is now finished.
The APOLLO 40-Award was
not recognized.
For the application it is neccessary to show evidence of
20 points from stations belonging to
at least 3 nations involved in space-flight,
please see the list below.
All contacts made since 01.01.2009 are valid.
There are no band or mode restrictions. Each station
counts only once for the award with
one point. DQ11APOLLO and contacts
made with or via a spacecraft
(e.g. ISS, amateur-radio satellite) count 5 points.
A GCR-list is accepted as an award application. The
award-manager reserves the right to request QSL-cards in cases of doubt. The
award fee is
10 Euro or
12 US-Dollar postage and packing included.
